As we talked about last week in the “College Survival Guide,” college can be overwhelming at times, but luckily WNCC provides the perfect solution, Paintball!

Over the weekend here at WNCC, we had our first off-campus, campus activity. The paintball tournament was hosted by CAB, or the Campus Activity Board.

WNCC’s president of the CAB board, Ciera Booker, says “The trip was just to do something, to help students take a bit of a break.”

Booker was kind enough to offer her personal experiences.

“I felt that it went really well, a bunch of first-timers joined the event so it was exciting to see new faces. Even though there were a lot of first timers, it still was a fierce competition” she said. “I even got shot once on the neck!”

Booker said that it  didn’t really hurt much, contrary to what sophomore Bailey Anderson said.

Anderson talked about how she found the experience to be quite painful, she went on to explain, “I got shot in the head once, I got shot in the arm twice and I even got shot in my thigh once!”

Anderson talked about how she found the experience to be rather enjoyable overall, “it was exciting to see the more angsty and aggressive side of people!” she said “I also really enjoyed getting to see some of the Sidney students, especially some of those that went here and then later on transferred there.”

Anderson said that she felt that the turn out was really good, which went along with what WNCC’s Megan Wescoat had to say.

Megan Wescoat started off by talking about her favorite part of the trip, “We had a good group from Sidney,” she said. “A lot of these students had never played paintball before so they had an absolute blast!”

Wescoat also agreed on the trip being rather painful, she explained that she was shot twice in the leg and that it caused a rather large bruise but “that’s just how the game goes.”

The campus activities here truly bring the students together and they’re truly worth attending. The next CAB activity is scheduled for October 20th and the theme is Casino Night.
